Question
I have a neighbor who says he has a pilot license, however he is a convicted federal felon, money laundering, mail fraud.  Can he actually have an aviation license?  Thank You Very Much

Answer
Yes, it is entirely possible he could have a pilot certificate even though he was convicted of felonies. Once you earn it, it must be revoked by the FAA otherwise it has no expiration. Here is an example of just such a pilot-

The only caveat is that to exercise the privileges associated with it one must also have a current aviation medical certificate. A pilot can elect to have their information removed from this public database however he may be listed here-
