Question
Hi, my friend has a commercial license for a 737 and was flying DHL, but he was out for medical for 1 year and then had non flying job for 18 months, and has been looking for a flying job since. He is not current anymore and that is proving to be difficult for him to find something. What advice can you give, maybe if he could get an internship program or a job where you are not required to be current?

Answer
Hi,
Sorry but I do not have good news for you. As right now the economic downturn pressing more and more pilots to change career and look for another type of employent is very common.
Depending where you are located but if your friend has B737 type rating, an option would be maybe work for some international contracts down in China or India. So far there is huge demand for pilots of airliners in China and India. I would suggest and try that. Plus pay is really nice too, considering that it is an work in foreigh country..
