Careers: Flying & Aviation/Away from ATC for years

Question
Hi,
I spent two years as an Air Force apprentice RAPCON Controller, but never got my journeyman skill level.  Originally I wanted to leave the USAF and transfer to the FAA but later decided I wanted to make a career out of the Air Force.  At the time controllers never got promoted so I elected to return to my old career field to better my promotion chances.
This was from 1986 - 1988 and I'm nearly 48 years old now and I know there's no chance I'll ever control again.
Are there any ATC (non-aircraft controlling) jobs available such as Flight Data or Clearance Delivery that I can still compete or qualify for?
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Lionel,

I really don't know. You can go to the FAA home page and look under jobs and it talks about Military Controllers and see if you qualify.

The link is http://jobs.faa.gov/Allfaajobs.htm

This is the opening that might apply:  http://jobsearch.usajobs.gov/getjob.asp?JobID=78434758&AVSDM=2009-01-07+01%3A08%...

I hope this helps.
