Question
hello!! I'm working in an airport in Romania as a ticketing agent, I just took the IATA&UFTAA Foundation exam, and I was wondering how can I apply for an internship.
Thank you very much.

Answer
Hi, Laura:

Nice to hear from you....I will try to assist!

I assume that you are a student in Romania?  (your question did not say).

There are several options for you to choose from in seeking an aviation internship in the USA.  First, if you wish to pursue an airport internship, I would recommend that you joing the AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF AIRPORT EXECUTIVES (AAAE) as an "Academic Member" for the cost of $40.  You have to show proof of your enrollment in a college or university.  From there, the AAAE haa a nice listing of airport internships that it makes available to its academic members.  Also, it has a twice-monthly newsletter that also has some internship listings in it.

Second, I would recommend that you go to the website of Southwest Airlines if you wish to have an airline internship.  This airline has an extensive intern program.  Go to their main website at
www.southwest.com/careers/internships.html  to check out their opportunities further.

Finally, if you wish to enroll in a US university or college that offers aviation degrees, you can go to the website of the University Aviation Association at www.uaa.aero ....they offer a listing of colleges and universities that offer aviation entitled THE COLLEGIATE AVIATION GUIDE, which you can order from the website. Many of their member insitutions offer aviation internships.

Best wishes to you,
