Question
Hello,
im graduating after a week from high school. i still dont know which major i should go to. im interested in aviation, i really want to be a pilot but for some reason i dont think there are good chances of suceeding in this job because of low opportunities for girls in this job. so i want a job similar to a pilot, i mean in the aviation industry. im good at physics and math, what should i study, oh yeah and i prefer a ground job

Answer
Jennifa,
If you want to be a pilot, I think that you have just as good a chance as a man to succeed.  As a air traffic controller I talk to a lot of women pilots on the radio.  25 years ago that was not necessarily true.  If you prefer a job on the ground an air traffic controller job may be right for you.  However, you do not have enough education or job experience to apply at this time.  You can attend a number of CTI schools to get a degree in air traffic.  But before you sign up for any school, remember that you must take and pass the ATSAT.  You can be hired off the street or from a CTI school, but in either case you must pass the ATSAT.

Good luck

p.s . Go to the FAA website and search for air traffic controller and their is a page there that will explain what we do and how to get hired.
