QuestionHi....I am 30 yrs and have just finieshed my BSc degree in Computer Science. However my passion is now becoming a pilot. Is there an age limit to get into this field and would airlines hire at this age?
AnswerHi Marcus,
That is really good and contriversal question. For a long time USA pilots had limitation with age 60 but recently it has ben changed back to age 65 for airlines. So in reality as an airline pilot you can operate with an airline as prof.airline pilot ill age 65. After that usually same pilots are moving back to smaller charter/cargo operations in order to be legally elegible to fly. Charter/smaller cargo operate usually smaller jets and turbo props are they are not limited with age 65 by regulations like airlines.
In short if you get your professional pilot license sooner longer you'll be able to fly as an airline pilot, but again after 65 majority pilots still flies for smaller companies.
