Question
QUESTION: Hello,

I have recently applied for an air traffic controller job on your main website.  I am 30 years old with a BA degree.  Am I too old to get this job?  Is there anything I can do to make my application stand out and be more likely to be interviewed for the position?

Thanks for your time,

Cliff

ANSWER: Dear Cliff,
The age cut off is 31.  I guess it would depend on whether things have changed since i was hired.  I took the test in April, turned 31 in May, and was hired in Aug.  but that was a long time ago.  When do you turned 31?  Have you taken the ATSAT yet?  I think if you take the ATSAT before you are 31 you should be OK.  I'm sorry but i really don't know.  Call you nearest FAA facility and asked to speak the the admin specialist.  They may not know but they should be able to tell you who to call.   You have to pass the ATSAT to get hired.  Good luck

QUESTION: Hello Dacus,

I turn 31 in November.  I did not realize that you had to take the ATSAT before getting hired.  Should I take this test before I have heard anything back from the FAA (if I do)?

Thanks again for the help,

Cliff

Answer
The only way of I know to take the ATSAT is through the FAA.  Have you already applied?  I am retired now and I was just a supervisor,  this questions are for someone in HRM Human Resource Management.  I suggest that you call an FAA facility and ask them.  Good luck.
