Questionhello sir,
i have completed aeronautical engineering (B.E) at india. aircraft maintenance is my passion since 11th std and i want to be aviation maintenance manager in airline. do i need to do MBA in aviation management or to get aircraft maintenance experience. where can i do MBA in aviation management for my better career progression??? kindly pls guide me sir.. thanks for ur kind consideration......
AnswerHi, Mohamed:
Nice to hear from you, I will try to assist.
First of all, most airline maintenance departments like to have people working for them in management who have some sort of aviation maintenance experience. You might want to check with the airlines that you want to work for to see if this is true, but, this has been my experience in the airline industry: Experience in the industry counts for a lot. So, you might see if there is an airline company willing to take you on to work for them in their aircraft maintenance engineering department to gain some experience.
Second, in the longer term, an MBA in Aviation Management also makes sense for you to do to be competitive in the future. The MBA in Aviation Management is offered by just a couple of institutions in India that I have found. One of them, the University of Energy and Petroleum Studies in Dehradun, India is a long-standing program. You can contact them at www.ueps.ac.in
As far as I know, they are a tradtional, on campus program.....but, if they had an on-line version of the degree, that would be helpful to your career goals (see below).
In the USA, there are some MBA in Aviation programs available that you can access on line at Daniel Webster College, Dowling College and at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. An on-line program would allow you to continue working in the field of airline maintenance management while, at the same time, pursuing an MBA in Aviation. You can simply Google or search on-line for any of these Aviation MBA programs on the internet for more information.
I wish you the very best in your career goals.
Sincerely,
