Im looking for a heli maintenance training (A&P ?) school in Arizona, but not having any luck. Are you aware of any, or am I looking at moving to Cali or maybe Utah?

Thank you for your question, I will try to assist!

First of all, there are very few A and P schools who have the staff and equipment to specialize in providing helicopter-specific A and P training.  As you have found, the vast majority if not all schools provide the basic A and P training via the use of fixed wing aircraft.  

The only school that I am aware of that offers Helicopter Maintenance training for sure is the school that I work for, Southern Illinois University Carbondale.  You can obtain more information by going to www.aviation.siu.edu  and then going to the Aviation Technologies link on the main page.

Otherwise, I would recommend you search the following to see if there is anything closer to where you are:

1.  There is an on-line directory of the members of the Aviation Technical Education Council or ATEC at www.atec-amt.org   

2.  You might also try the helicopter schools directory (most of them are flight that I saw in a quick examination, but, you might find more....)at www.bestaviation.net/helicopter_schools/

3.  Also, you might find something in the COLLEGIATE AVIATION GUIDE which is available from the University Aviation Association at www.uaa.aero or by calling 334-844-2434.
