How do you handle Late Reporting Passenger in airlines?

Answer
As a pilot, I don't have to deal with late passengers. That is the job of the customer service agent or gate agent. The only flight crew that has any dealings with "late runners" are the flight attendants who help them get seated and stow their belongings. Pilots are busy readying for the flight and any late boarding passenger issues brought to their attention would be referred to a customer service agent to deal with. Passengers who arrive late for boarding to the gate may be denied boarding by the agent if they will delay the departure- even if there are a few minutes left before scheduled departure. The agent needs time to rectify the passenger list in the computer and "close out" the passenger manifest so the weight and balance can be completed for departure. This is why all reservations are subject to cancellation 10 minutes prior to scheded departure.
