As an aspiring pro pilot I encourage you to read over this site-

http://www.pilotcareer.info

It will cover the need to know basics I think everyone in your situation ought to know and likely most of the things you are wondering about. I don't recommend any school as flight schools aren't the best option for everyone. What is the best route for one pilot may not be for another. Your training choice will be dependant on how you learn best, your budget and your time schedule.

Not sure what a "center membership" is. Perhaps that is like belonging to a local flight school or flying club? Even though flying clubs have membership dues, they are often cheaper than flight schools in the long run as their hourly rates are less.

As far as scholarships, I suggest seeking out the International Organization of Women Pilots, The Ninety-Nines. They give flight scholarships to women pilots and many individual chapters of the Ninety-Nines have their own chapter given awards including the New Jersey "99s". Members of at least one year as of Dec 1st annually may apply for a grant that pays for one pilot certificate. They also have awards for aspiring pilots that help pays part of the cost of the private pilot.

Here is a link that may also provide some resources if you live untie right area or meet other criteria- http://www.flightscholarship.info

This ought to get you started. I also suggest checking out the links on the pilotcareer. Info page as they are a collection of great info that will help you I learning what you need to know when embarking on this career. There is a link for the Jetcareers.com forums which has a career changers board as well.

Good luck,
Dottie
