Question
Hello sir!
I have a strong idea to join MBA Aviation Management in India. I have done my Bachelor's degree(Business Administration) in Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. I wish to join Hindustan University Chennai for the course.

Now what is problem, "is my friends and my neighbors are misguiding me as there are no scope and no future in this industry so better u go for the general MBA"

But im very eager to join this course so plz guide me and tell abt job opportunities in aviation management.

Answer
Hi, Balaji:

Thank you for your question, I will try to assist.

First of all, make sure you check the future aviation forecasts available from such places as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Airbus and Boeing.  For example, the Boeing Commercial Airplane Company put out a forecast last year that was summarized in a news release entitled "Boeing Projects Requirement for More Than One Million Pilots and Maintenance Personnel Over Next 20 Years."  (Date of news release was September 15, 2010).  Go to http://boeing.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&ote,=1424 to see a copy).  With over one million pilots and maintenance personnel needed through 2030, it is a sure bet that many aviation managers will also be needed for various management functions at airlines, airports, aviation manufacturers, aviation maintenance companies and the like.

Second, if you truly love the field of aviation, that is a good reason to pursue the field.  You will need to constantly learn more about aviation as you get deeper into the industry.  The more technical competance you have in aviation matters, the better off you will be in gaining meaningful employment in the aviation industry.

Third, one of the things to check out in terms of selecting the program at Hindustan University is to find out what their placement record is for the MBA program in aviation.  How does it compare to the placement services (and academic program) offered by the similar MBA in Aviation Management offered by the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies at Dehradun, India?

I hope that this helps you with your decision.  If you have more questions, ask them via another question on AllExperts.com

Best wishes,
