Question
Hello
I'm 22 years old student from Georgia, by this time I already completed bachelor degree - Faculty of business and administration in Georgian Aviation University and now am ending Master degree in Audit and finances in same university (on Last year). Right now I'm searching for university to study abroad in Civil Aviation field, I found a lot of preferable universities, but didn't found any available scholarships for internation students. Am interested if there is any available scholarships, financial aid programs for International students like me, for Georgian student to continue my career growth in Aviation field.
Thank you very much in advance and sorry for disturbance

AnswerHi, Mikheil:
It is nice to hear from you, I will try to assist!
Most of my knowledge about financial aid to study aviation in college is about USA colleges and universities. I know very little about such things for European or other colleges and universities outside the USA.
First of all, a good place to look for scholarships to study aviation would be at universities that offer aviation degrees, especialy advanced aviation degrees. Most universities in the USA, for example, offer "Graduate Assistant" or "Graduate Teaching Assistant" or "Graduate Research Assistant" fellowships or scholarships. Obviously, such fellowships or scholarships ARE competitive. Therefore, you must have a very good academic record as an undergraduate and graduate student. Also, you must apply in a timely way for such fellowships or scholarships. Most have a late winter or early Spring deadline for the Fall Semester and most have a deadline that has just past or is about to pass for Spring Semester. So, check with the schools you are interested in and ask about the assistantships/fellowships/scholarships that I mentioned above. These usually pay for your tuition in school and a small to medium stipend to live on.
Second,there are scholarships available from many websites, such as;
1. www.uaa.aero is the website of the University Aviation Association and it offers a publication THE COLLEGIATE AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP LISTING. You can purchase it via the website above and you can also see a number of schoarship applications listed at this site.
2. www.avscholars.com is a broad-based aviation financial aid website that also has an aviation scholarship listing.
3. There are also aviation scholarship listings at www.landings.com and many of the other overall aviation websites.
Third, there are sometimes grants and scholarships available from the United Nations Development Programme at www.undp.org for students from developing nations.
Finally, on occasion, your home government might have scholarships available for study aboard depending on the needs of the nation (you would have to agree to study and earn a degree and come back to Georgia to "pay back" the scholarship). If your nation as a "civil aeronautics agency" or a civil transportation agency, they might have such scholarships.
I wish you the best in your search for supporting funds to go to school!
