Answer
HI, "cng":

The B. S. in Professional Aeronautics degree is one that Embry Riddle Aeronautical University has offered for quie a number of years.  It is one that is offered, in particular, to build upon the educational portfolios of those who have had military or civilian training or work experiences (or certification) that might be equivalent (in terms of college-level credit) to work that is done in a university or college.  Generally, the equivalent military or civilian aviation work is credited for all or part of the first two years of the degree and then you take the upper division coursework (and some general education coursework such as English, math, speech, etc) to complete the full degree.

We, in fact, offer something simiilar to this degree at the university where I work, Southern Illinois University Carbondale.  The Embry Riddle degree is more available because they offer it in many more locations around the USA and around th world.

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is definitely a well-known, reputable, and well-respected university within the aviation industry.  If you have questions about Embry Riddle, you might got to their website at www.erau.edu

My best wishes to you in your pursuit of a baccalaureate degree.
