Question
I am going into the Marine Corps to become a pilot. I know i will become a fighter pilot and i would like to stay in the Corps for 8 to 10 years. So, I most likely be home when im 29. I was wondering about 3 questions.

A. Will I be old enough to become a commercial pilot at 29?

B. What classes or programs would I have to take if I have already been flying for at least 7-9 years in the Corps in order to become a commercial pilot?

C.Since, I am going to be flying in the Corps do I have any sort of fly credentials that commericial airlines look at?

Answer
Hi Mike,
You can obtain a commercial certificate when you are 18 yrs.  The airlines require a college degree and experience.  If you fly for the military, recent history says that you will easily get a job, especially if it is jet time.
My guess is that you will be in great shape.
Good Luck,
Dave
