Question
Dacus,

I am curious as to what steps I need to take in order to get into this field. I have prior aviation experience ( ground ops) and I have always wanted to advance in to high ranks. I am only 19 but today I have a lot of responsibility as far as my debt load goes so cant exactly drop everything and run to Chicago or NY for school. Do you know of any ATC training programs or schools in Michigan. Any help you could provide me would be greatly appreciated

Answer
Hi Jesse,
Go the the FAA website at http://jobs.faa.gov/Allfaajobs.htm  You can look for job openings here.

Go to this website to look for CTI schools.   http://www.faa.gov/jobs/job_opportunities/airtraffic_controllers/

I hope this helps.
