However i hv qualified for admisssions for the Aviation Management (MBA) programme at 'College of Management & Economics Studies' at the 'University of Petroleum and energy studies' ,Dehradun, India.
Bt I would want to know the following before I join this course:-
*Other recommended universities offering this course in India.
*Job prospects in this field in india and abroad.
*Nature of job. (Job work)
*Growth Prospects.
I hope to recieve a reply from you as early as
possible sir. Thanking you for your timely gesture.

AnswerHi, Nupur:
Thanks for your questions, I will try to help where I can.
A. I do not know about schools in India, so, I can not help you with your first question. I am sorry.
B. Nature of Job (actually, this is your third question, but, I thought I would answer it first before the others below):
Someone who earns an aviation management degree will work on the business side of ANY segment in aviation. The aviation industry is comprised of these key segments:
1. Aviation manufacturing
2. Airlines
3. General aviation (which includes corporate aviation or corporate flight departments---all flying EXCEPT that done by the airlines and the military is considered "general aviation")
4. Aviation-related governemnt agencies including airport management and operations, airport planning, aviation safety regulation, etc.
The nature of the jobs can vary greatly, as in the following job titles:
1. Airport manager
2. Airport operations supervisor
3. Airport planner
4. Airline flight crew scheduler
5. Airline air cargo coordinator
6. Airline air cargo load master and hazardous cargo specialist
7. Aviation manufacturing cost analyst
8. Aviation manaufacturing product support specialist
9. Aviation manufacturing technical writer
10. Airline marketing coordinator
C. Job prospects: The above are just examples....there are many more. You can check these websites for job possibilities:
www.aviationemployment.com
www.avjobs.com
www.avcrew.com
Again, these are mostly American websites, but, they will give you some examples of jobs.
D. Growth prospects. With all of the aircraft orders made by airlines in India during the past year, it is obvious that the airline industry in India is on the fast track to grow. Some of the airlines that ordered aircraft include Kingfisher Airlines and Spicejet. Both Boeing and Airbus are providing aircraft to India-based airlines. It will be an exciting time ahead for aviation in India!
I hope that this answer is of assistance to you!
Sincerely,
