Question
Hi,
My name is Edik and I am in high school.  I have couple of questions.  First does it make a huge difference what college I go to, for example if i were to go to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University would it look better on my transcript vs. if i was to go to some university in california.  Second, how do major airlines look at you if you have a corrected 20/20?  Do they use that against you, or do they not care.  Would they pick someone who has a perfect 20/20 over the person with the 20/20 corrected.  If you have any other tips please feel free to express yourself.

Thank you
Edik

No, it really doesn't matter where you attend school or what subject you major in. Many pilots do attend pricey schools like ERAU for their flight training and formal education because they want to major in aviation from a big name school. They want to take an aviation program as that is thier biggest interest. However, airlines don't care where you get your degree, they do care about what is in your logbook. Others chose to save the bucks on thier 4 year and apply that towards some more quality flight time. In fact, during bad times in the industry (like now) it often helps to have a degree in someting other than aviation!

If you want to know all about becoming a pilot and flying careers, check out my website about it. I tried to included everything an aspiring pilot would want to know, plus I put all the best links on the web for additional information at the bottom. If you chose to go to ABC University, it will talk about how you might get your ratings on the side. Visit:

On your second topic, I think I just sent you an anwser to the 20/20 eyesight question.
