Question
Hi Dottie,

I am in the process of sending out my resume to several regional carriers. I have around 1200TT with 100 multi.
I have applied to Express Jet, Mesaba, Commut Air, Skyway(Midwest Airlines). I am also a member of airlineapps.com which have several participating companies which includes American Eagle too :)
Are there any other airlines out there that I could send my resume to with the hours that I have?
How long typically does it take for an airline to get back with the applicant after sending out a resume? How long after having taken an actual sim ride with the company?

Thanks.

P.S. What do you fly?

Answer
Hmmm...didn't get an Email notice about this question. Luckily I got another and it showed 2 pending questions!

You meet the mins for pretty much every airline that I can think of. Air Wisconsin was said to be 'hiring everyone with a pulse' and Skyway is hiring too as both carriers are not in the best health and they are having quite a few pilots jump ship for other airlines so they are hiring to replace thosepilot. Two of my friends recently quit Skyway as they would have been on reserve for years and their out look isn't all that bright. Same goes for Air Wisconsin as they juat lost a great deal of flying to Skywest. These carriers are hiring due to attrition and not expansion, so you would be on the bottom of the pile for a long time at either place.

I'd also suggest looking into Colgan & Mesa. Mesa is hiring quite a few large classes for the immediate future. You might try Pinnacle as well. Great Lakes has a reputaion for paying horribly, and their training is difficult, but their mins are 750/50.

Here is the link to the regionals interview forum at FlightInfo.com. Go there and see who else is hiring-

You should also take a look at the most recent interview experiences submitted to www.aviationinterviews.com as that will give you a good idea of who is hiring and what kind of applicants they are looking at.

That totally depends on how fast they intend to fill classes, how many they are hiring and how competative your resume is compared to the others they have received. Some carriers are getting many applicants with previuos 121 or 135 experience so they call them first. Plus any resumes with letter of recommendation or those that were walked in by company pilots also generally go to the top of the callback pile. I heard back from one airline 6 days after my interview with a conditional offer of employment, the other (where I interviewed only 2 days later) called almost 7 weeks later with an offer!

After a sim ride that waspart of an interview? Again, that totally depends on how fast they intend to fill classes and when their captains board or HR dept meets to review applications. At my airline it was every Friday. At others, who knows! When they get around to it.

:O)
