QuestionDear Sir,
I am R. Ram Siddarth, a student from India doing my 3rd year Aeronautical Engineering (4 years/8 semesters, degree course). I wish to pursue my masters in Aviation Management, being more specific, I would like to specialize in Airline Human Resources. Being a professional from the Aviation Field, i feel, i would fit in perfect for a masters in Aviation Management.
It would be kind of you, as to advice me in this regard. I would like to know,
1. The various universities, both in and out of US offering this course.
2. Basic eligibility criterion for pursuing this course.
3. The job prospects.
Expecting your advice,
R. Ram Siddarth

AnswerHi,
To answer your questions:
1. There are very few US universities that offer any kind of masters degree in aviation. Your best bet for a university that might offer what you want would be Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, USA. They are a comprehensive aviation university and offer a fair number of choices at the graduate level for degrees. Other universities to try are the University of Tenneseee, Daniel Webster University, University of Nebraska Omaha-Aviation Insttitute and Dowling College (NY). I am not aware of schools outside the USA that offer this subject.
2. The criteria for entry into each school above will depend on each school's application process.
3. The job prospects for airline-related hiring are, in general, very good right now and are expected to improve as the airlines receive the many aircraft that they have on order right now. The only thing that can get in the way of airline expansion will be a major international event such as a war or an unexpected, high increase in fuel prices.
I hope that this helps you in your career search. Best wishes to you,
