Question
im currently in the active duty air force planning on crossing to the guard, im trying to stay in the aviation industry as a mechanic in maryland. long story short i was wondering if there are any licensing schools in maryland or close by the D.C. metro area? Ive noticed that most of the jobs at local airports in my area all require A&P licenses and minimum 4 + years aircraft experience will it matter if most of my experience is on the F-16, F-15, and A-10, or would they perfer larger models such as KC-130, or C-5,etc?

Answer
Check any community college they do have cheapest courses for an A&P program. Do not go with private school, they cost around 15-20K, not worth. Community Collegies are best offer. Knowledge complex systems like F-15, F-16 or A-10 is fantastic benefit on resume. Shoot your resumes toward corporate not general aviation. Thye do operate corporate jets that are with familiar systems that you have in military jets
