Question
What are the different types training courses you can take to become a pilot.

Answer
Hi Greg,

Thank you for your question.
There are basically two types of "courses" to take.
Part 61 and Part 141.
Part 61 is recommended for people who do not have enough free time to complete the Pilot certificate as a full time student but rather as "part time", meaning working a full time job and flying as money becomes available to pay for lessons. This type of training does lengthen the course and several years can be spent before completing all your ratings.
Part 141 is a more structured course and is very suitable for full time students. This course can take you from 0 to 250 hrs. (commercial pilot) in as little as 6-8 months!

look up your local flight schools and they can give you additional information.

I hope this helps,
