Careers: Flying & Aviation/Private Pilot License in Skylark
Expert: David Bidwell - 5/30/2005
QuestionHello Mr Bidwell
Let me introduce myself first: I am a senior student in Aerospace Engineering in Ankara/TURKEY.
Actually, I want to have a career in aviation industry as a pilot. (or later maybe as a flight instructor) In order to have this, my first option is to be educated by our national airline, Turkish Airlines. This airline educates the pilot candidates and then have them work for several years. In these candidates, the ones with private pilot license have priority.
This summer I am going to stay in East Windsor, CT. Actually I will be doing Work & Travel this summer. I will earn some money, and I want to spend it in getting a private pilot license. I have found your academy from maps.google.com, then found you from google search :) ,and wanted to contact you, if I have a chance to have an education in your academy?
I will be in East Windsor about 30 June, and want to come to Skylark Flight Academy to talk about the details. But of course, firstly I want to know if I can have a private pilot license as a foreigner? Later I wonder about the cost of the license. In Turkey, having a private pilot license starts from 3000$ going to 5000$. But this cost seems too much for me. I am looking for a more affordable cost.
Thank you for your interest...
Yours faithfully

AnswerHello Ozgur,
Unfortunately, I cannot help you. I have turned over the flight school to another person. His name is Howard Foote. You might reach him by calling the Skylark Airport when you get here. As far as cost, it usually cost between five to eight thousand dollars. Good Luck, I am sorry that I cannot be more help.
