Question
QUESTION: I was wondering what steps I need to take to become a air traffic controller. I'm really interested about this job and hopefully will pursue it in the future. Is there any way someone can work as a intern without even starting any training or work?

ANSWER: The FAA is currently hiring off the street in select locations, go to WWW.FAA.gov and follow the links for jobs or employment.

Good luck

QUESTION: I also wanted to know some more about starting this career. Is the test really that hard? Could I work at the location that I wanted or they would choose for me?

Answer
Dear Dawna,
I don't know how hard the ATSAT is.  I took the prototype a few years back and I thought that it was interesting, not necessarily hard.  The FAA website has openings listed for specific locations, if you are not interested in these locations you may be able to swap with someone after you get hired.

Good Luck
