QuestionHello David, I am 22 yrs old looking to start a career in aviation. What is the best way to go a 2 yr academy or go get my BS degree. Is there any grants out there to help me with this. Right now I am a apprentice electriction and I will be done in October 2007 with this and I am looking for advice on how I should go about going to school for aviation, if you could help me out with this it would be great.. Thanks Nate
AnswerHi,
Thanks for your question. I will try to assist!
There is a great listing of aviation schools avialable from the University Aviation Association entitled THE COLLEGIATE AVIATION GUIDE. This guide is available from UAA at their website at www.uaa.aero or by calling them to order it at 334-844-2434. In choosing an aviation school, you first have to decide which kind of aviation program you wish to pursue (aviation flight, aviation technologies, avionics technology...which is aviation electronics...., air traffic control, aviation management and so on. There are lots of choices out there. You need to figure out which program fits your needs and your interests from a career perspective.
As far as the the top schools out there, there are a number of them, but, you need to figure out which part of the USA you want to go to school within and then figure out from there what the top schools in that geographical area would be.
Email me again when you get to that point and I would be glad to assist.
Also, there UAA has a helpful COLLEGIATE AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP LISTING available which you might want to order the same time you order the guide....
All the best,
