The "outlook" for the career is always in flux. When you start flight training, it may be very good with a hiring boom and when you finish it may be average or in recession. The only constant in this industry is change as the airline industry is very much affected by economic recessions and high fuel costs. If you are wanting this career because it's a passion more than you are looking for a career with certain pay or benefits, then you won't be disappointed.

1. What is the salary for first year pilot?
First year pay (or even the first several) is very low. Most regional airlines start out at less than $20K. Read my webpage for more about pilot pay and what pilots make in addition to numerous other training and career FAQs at-

I also have many, many great links at page bottom for other career related info. Between my site and the links, you will find all you'll need to know about the career and what to expect.

2. If I go to a good school do I have more chance to get hire by a good well paying airline?

No, where you attended school or flight training doesn't affect your chances of getting a "well paying" pilot job. Those are generally had with the major airlines, who don't hire you without substantial flight experience gained. There are some flight schools and universities that have affiliations with certain regional airlines to get their graduates preferential interviews. This can lead to a quicker career progression and therefore better pay sooner but that's about the limit of how a school can help with getting better pay.

Hope this helps.
