Question
Hey, I'm currently a military controller with six months left on contract.  I posses the following quals: Tower Data/CD, Ground Control, Final Control, Radar Data, Local Control/CTO, 3 separate Approach ratings 1 of witch is a TRACON, and also 1 Arrival qual.  I'm designated as a Tower Watch Supervisor, Radar Watch Supervisor, and CIC/FPL.  I can't say where I work but it is the equivalent of a ATC 9.  I was inquiring on how difficult it would be to get a job as a civilian in the south east region.  Would I be able to get a job in a specific city?  What is the first step to take?  Can you explain what CTI is?  I meet the age requirements and I am aware of the new FAA pay scale so neither of those are a problem.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
Will

Answer
Hi Will,
Go to the FAA website WWW.faa.gov.  Go to the jobs link at the top right, select search FAA jobs.  Under series select 2152 and push search.  You will get a listing of all FAA openings in the US.  There was a VRA job link but I don't see it anymore.  I am not sure what CTI is, other than CTI schools  teach ATC.  You can apply for any of the openings that are open to the general public if there is a city listed for what you want.  Other than that you can get hired and try to transfer.

Good Luck
