Question
hi,  I want to help out my boyfriend who's interested in flying.  Can you recommend good flight schools where you get your license that would be recognized in commercial airlines. I'm quite clueless about the topic so I could use all the help i could get.  He mentioned he's tired to apply to some schools before but most of them don't have vacancies.  He also mentioned some countries where most international airlines would recognize the license, like australia and US.  And another inquiry to add if you may,  around how much would the whole thing cost and are there scholarships you may recommend?  Thank you in advance!

Answer
Hi,
Carriers recognize licenses, ratings and experience. This can be obtained through almost any local airport flight school.  They also require a college degree.  You did not mention if your boyfriend has one.  If not, I strongly suggest that he attend an aviation college such as Embry Riddle (www.erau.edu) or Daniel Webster or any of the many available aviation colleges.  Go online and find one closest to you.  Ask them what type of financial assistance they provide.  Most have various programs. I also suggest that you check out the following web site for more info.
Good Luck,
Dave
