Question
I was wondering what the process is to obtain a pilots licence. And what kind of training do you have to undergo in order to fly for a comertial airline. I would like to have a career in aviation but really dont want to go into the military. I am 20 years old and am a junior at San Diego State University. Thankyou

Answer
Hi Steve,
The requirements are really to numerous to detail here,  To get to the commercial pilot status you would need to obtain the following certificates
private pilot
instrument rating
Commercial pilot
Mult- engine rating
And lots of experience.  The training can be done at most local airports.  They usually have schools. I suggest that you visit one for the particulars.  You can also purchase a copy of the FAR (Federal Aviation Regulations) from most airports or even Amazon .com. In this book will be listed all the detailed tasks that you must acomplish for each ticket.
Good Luck,
