Question Hi! I'm a high school student and have an interest in earth and space sciences. What would be the likely-hood of a geological engineer securing a job in the space industry, for example working for the Canadian Space Agency? I know that the space industry hires various types of engineers such as mechanical, civil, chemical etc... what about geological engineers?
Hope you can help, thank you!!
Answer Haley:
I had a college classmate who is working on the Martian Lander program. He majored in inter-planetary geology. I think he went to the University of Chicago. That might be your best bet, or go into petrology. You will need a Doctorate. If you are interested, I could put you in touch with my classmate and he might be able to guide you further.
