Question
How to avoid walk-outs in hotel? How would proper use of IT have avoided walk-outs? Can IT alone help?

Answer
Hello Fung,

First of all, I'm not sure what IT is? However, a strict credit  policy should be established to avoid issues with walk outs. Upon check in- guests establishing credit for miscellaneous charges is a universal policy with most hotel companies throughout the world. Cash paying guests must establish a cash deposit to cover incidentals just as anyone else would with a credit card. It is up to the individual property to establish the proper amount.

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks Fung...I suppose in a world where everything is abbreviated, "I.T." should have been obvious...but at the time, I could not figure out what "it" was...if you know what I mean! Further, Information Technology as they say, is only as good as the information available. Good, solid company policies should be relied on to avoid walk-outs.
