Question I was at work when a table left money on the table and left. I dont think it was intentional but they didnt leave enough money. I spoke to every manager in the building and they each said i had to pay it. They say taking the money is my responsibility, and yes it is my responsibility to get the money, however i cannot chase someone down, nor can i force them to pay and in the restaraunt we are expected to run food to other guests. Unfortunatley i over reacted after trying to talk one again with one of the managers, he took me off the schedule for two days for over reacting. In truth it was not a huge amount of money, but they wanted me to pay it plus tip out on the money i paid. What can i do? if anything
Answer Hi Renee,
Well, it seems very unfair based on what you have told me. Things like that happen, its just a cost of doing business, unless it is something that happens frequently. I'd think management could be a little more sympathetic. Bottom line, how badly do you want to keep your job working there? It's really a matter of principle, and that decision has to be yours!
