Question
What can i do to find a good carer in the hospitality field?
I have over 15 yrs restaurant experience with 5 years of upper level management exp. (ie. GM / co/owner)
I am only 29 and i have 4 children and have been married for 7 years.
I work very hard at every position that i do and i feel that i am more thorough than most. I always but my ass for everything that i do and seem to get shafted every time.

What can I do to make my situation more profitable for me and my family

Answer
Sounds like you have some strong sales and management experience.  My speciality is hotel sales and catering.  Hotel Sales is a rewarding career that can earn 40 - 50K entry level salaries plus bonus depending on where you want to live and work. Many individuals earn 65-80K or more after just a few years.  The sales positions often lead to the General Manager Positions which can earn 70K to 150K or more per year.

I would stay out of the catering side of hotel sales because it requires a lot of evenings and weekends.  Go with the hotel sales side which has better hours, usually Monday - Friday.

Go to www.aprinda.com and click on the 3 minute commercial about what a hotel sales person does for a career and see if that interests you.  www.aprinda.com can train you on-line in about 14 hours and have you ready to interview with confidence and hit the ground running.  You could also look at ecornell.com, but that is a little more expensive and requires more time.

If you have good common sense, enjoy working with people, and project a professional image, you can do well and advance quickly in just a few years.  You can find listings for hotel sales manager jobs at www.indeed.com ,  www.hcareers.com and www.hospitalityonline.com.  Be sure and type in

Best of luck to you.
