Question
Hello Steve

i am currently doing research on why different people pursue the careers they do and i am now researching the hospitality industry. i realise you are an expert in facets of this industry but i would like to know, besides the lack of routine, why did you decide to invest your skills and abilities in this specific industry? And was working in the hospitality industry something you've always dreamt of doing as child, if not, how then, did you come to choose to work in this industry?

Answer
I was drawn to the glamour, and perks.  I always liked being in and around hotels and resorts.  I also enjoyed sales and marketing. Sell what you like and you will be successful was my belief.

There are lots of people that would enjoy hotel sales and catering just as I do.  I always suggest www.aprinda.com for some free advice on what it's all about.  After 25 years in the business, I wouldn't do anything else.  The hotel business gets in your blood.

Fortunately, the money you can make in hotel sales and catering is fairly good and allows one to lead a comfortable lifestyle.

Looking back, I was drawn to the lifestyle, not the money.

Good Luck to you.
