Careers: Law/Paralegal -- English vs. Business Administration

Question
I already have my Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies as well as a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved school.  My question is:  Is it worth being in school an extra year to get a bachelor degree in Business Administration if I plan on being a paralegal? or would getting a bachelor degree in English be sufficient?  I know paralegals write a lot and need good critical thinking skills, I just don't know if I need all the math related material taught in the business administration major.  I'm 24 (almost 25) years old and I'm sick of being in school, so all I see is 2 years vs 3 years of school left.  Can anyone give me an encouraging answer?  I hear an English degree is worthless, but I think I would enjoy it more than Business Admin.   I just want to make the best career choice.

Answer
Jennifer,

You are correct that writing and critical thinking skills are essential to paralegal practice. Therefore, a bachelor's degree in English would provide a great foundation for a paralegal career.  I do not believe that a degree in business administration would give you any significant advantage over an English degree in the paralegal employment market.  Therefore, it is unnecessary to spend an extra year in school earning the business degree if you plan on becoming a paralegal.
