Expertise

I can answer almost all questions regarding careers in the world of local television news. Positions such as photographer, reporter, assignment desk, producer and management. I also have lesser knowledge in the production end of things- positions such as director, technical director, studio camera operator and promotions. I know a little about these positions, but not the extent as I do in regards to the news gathering folks. Also, you don't have to limit your questions to only careers. I've answered questions about news gathering gear, management position descriptions, reporter personality types, etc. for novelists, screenwriters and the just plain curious.

Experience

I have been a photographer, producer and Chief photographer for over 22 years in both small and large markets. As a teacher and manager, I'm often called upon to answer questions regarding careers, skills and requirements of the television news profession. I can easily answer questions regarding job searches, getting your foot in the door and educational requirements as well as lesser known tips and tricks for researching your perfect station. B.A., Radio, Television, Film- San Jose State University Masters, College of 20 years in the trenches!
