Question
Are Physicians Assistants referred to as "Doctor" ?

Answer
Physician's assistants (PA's) are not physicians or doctors.  Though many of their patients may lovingly refer to them as "Doc," the PA program is not a clinical doctorate, and therefore they are not required to obtain a doctoral degree (MD, DO, DC).  The do work under the direct supervision and guidance of physicians and surgeons, and may possess many of the same specialized skills.  The education level is dependent of the licensing requirements of the state or country where they work.  Most PA programs require a minimum four (4) year academic schedule with various clinical rotations and board exams before they can obtain their certification.  See this link for more information:
