right now im a XII science student and im very much interested in psycology.but dont have much about doing my career as a psychiatrist. please let me know about the things very clearly. i'll be very grateful to you.

Answer
Hi Anjali

I am unsure where you are based, but in the UK to become a psychiatrist you must first complete medical training and then specialise - around 8 - 10 years training in all.

There are other options: clinical psychologist, or as i am - a psychiatric nurse.  For these you need to go to university and take a psychology degree or the nurse training, specialising in psychiatry.

For all of the above you need to get excellent grades at A level - and getting an A level or equivalent in psychology would be advantageous.

Please seek further help from your careers officer at your educational establishment or contact your department of health as there is always advice available.
I hope that helps and good luck.

One thing, though -
Just make sure you can spell psychology before you contact them as they will be more inclined to take your enquiry seriously.
