Question
Hello, I just graduated from high school two months ago, I was suppose to enroll into S.F.A University, about two weeks ago, but because I can not pick a major my parents are making me go to a local college until I figure out what I want to do. All I know is that I want and need a career that will soon not be taken over by technology, people will always need to see just like they need food and shelter. Optomerty sounds like a good feild. Can you tell me as far as school goes what it takes as far as education, the yearly salary, and the postive and negetive points in the field.
                                Thanks,

Answer
optometry requires four years of optometry school AFTER college.  It is not a "major" per se while in college.  I suggest you google the American Optometric Association to get more complete answers to your questions.  They also have information on salary.
