Hope this helps...
1. (answer) I recieved a bachelors degree in nursing, masters in sports medicine & biomechanics, and a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.
2. (answer) I completed several internships, one residency and one fellowship, both during and following my academic course work. I was able to apply my knowlege in biomechanics directly to my practice of chiropractic. Was very challanging but also very rewarding.
3. (answer) Daily challanges of all kinds, both clinical and as a small business owner. The greatest challange is seeking ways to help each person who seeks my services. This may be in the form of solving their problem directly, or referring them to someone better suited than I am.
4. (answer) There are numerous areas in my field that will require both funding and research. Particularily in the area of manual medicine. CAM has become one of the most visable of the emerging health sciences, and holds many promises if properly researched.
5. (answer) Yes. However, I would recommend working with an experienced person in your field before striking out on your own.
6. (answer) Job prospects in my field are very good. Complementory and Alternative Medicine (CAM) has gained huge popularity within the last decade, and the future looks to be limitless.
7. (answer) Yes. Yes...
8. (answer) Must be a self-starter, well motivated and have a sincere interest in helping others. There is a great future demand for conservative and complementory health professionals.
9. (answer) Integrity and professionalism are the hallmarks for success in any health profession. No different in mine. You must know your work, enjoy it, and be persistant.
10. (answer) Yes and No. It is however, the job that I am best suited for both personally and intellectually.
Thanks for asking...
