Question
What tools help you on the job?

Answer
Ryche,
Good question!  Since I'm a chiropractor (Greek: 'done by hand'), I use mostly my hands.  Of course my eyes for observation and my language skills for taking a medical history and patient instruction.  As a doctor, I also use any available medical diagnostic tool relative to the patient's problem.  For example, I use x-rays, MRIs, CT (CatScans) for imaging the spine, joints and soft tissues.  I also use basic examination tools like a stethascope, reflex hammer, vibration tuneing fork, pinwheel etc.

In treatment, we use specialized adjusting tables, decompression tables, traction tables, and physical therapy tables.  We also use physical medicine modalities such as ice, moist heat, electric stimulation, ultrasound, exercise equipment and OTC topical medications.

We use many tools, but none are as important as our education, training and experience in helping to identify a problem, diagnose it correctly then provide the best treatment possible to help resolve it.

Hope this helps...
