Question
QUESTION: Hello!
My name is Marina I was wondering about tornados and what the center a one looks like.
If you have ever seen the movie twister at the end of the movie it shows the center of the twister. Is that truly what scientists think the center of a tornado looks like? Also if you have ever watched storm chasers you will have heard of the T.I.V. or Tornado Intercept Vehicle if I am not mistaken the T.I.V. can only withstand 200+ winds is it possible to build a car that can withstand F5 force winds?
Thanks for all your Help and thanks for your time,
Marina

ANSWER: The inside of a tornado is just debris. I found this out myself in my storm chasing and video taping.

Nothing can withstand F5 winds. This type of tornado destroys everything in its path.

QUESTION: So what is the highest force of winds that anything can withstand? and how would you buld a car that could that force of winds?

Answer
Heavy cars...no matter what, are lifted off the ground in an F3 tornado. This includes semi trucks and buses. Building something so strong to withstand winds of 158-206, is somewhat unlikely because the metal would have to weigh over 4 tons.

The elements of nature, EARTH, WIND, and FIRE are not something that can be compromised. When the wind gets stronger, it is more powerful than what any human mind can ever figure out.

Houses can survive with much damage through an F3, but well-constructed houses get leveled and thrown in an F4. That is about it. Nothing can beat the F5 tornado. It is too uber-powerful.
