Question
QUESTION: When i was younger (18) i committed a felony... I did get it deferred. Am i still able to enlist in the marine? I have over 200 college hours and a GED. I did my probation and got off it without a issue...

I have no issue with scoring HIGH on the ASVAB or passing the PFT or anything of that sort...

i am now 24 years old...

ANSWER: Depending on what the felony was and since there has been a considerable amount of time passed since you committed the crime, there shouldn't be a problem. The Marines have waivers that they can do to get you enlisted. But like I said...Depends on what the felony was and the degree.

QUESTION: Okay I talked to a recruiter today and he said I should be fine with the felony
and what not but since I have a GED and I went to a technical school where
I attended 200 hours he has to see how that will transfer over he thinks a teir
1 but is not sure should I go and get 15 hrs at my local community college?

Answer
If  he thinks its a Tier 1 then do nothing, if its a tier 2....your still ok.... I wouldnt do anything till he says what you need. It depends on the trade school and their accreditation and how the Air Force sees it. 15 Semester Hours is 5 classes at 3 credits a class, You could knock this out in a semester or online in about 10 weeks. I would wait to see what your recruiter has to say first....
