Question
Dear Colonel,

If I were to obtain commission in the army as a brand new 2nd LT, and I had just receieved my bachelor's degree in Psychology, would I be allowed to start as an clinical or counseling Psychologist for my first duty station or would I be put in another job and wait to move up in rank? and if I were put in another job for the time being, what would that job be?

Answer
Dear Frank --

Additional information about medical fields in the Army is on http://www.usarec.army.mil/armypa

You can also chat with a medical corps recruiter from this site and ask specific questions.  As you will see by going to the site, there are a lot of opportunities available since you would like to serve in the medical field -- specifically psychology.

Good luck to you.
