What's the specfic name of the background checker the recruiter and the meps does? For example there is one called "COPS" (Centralized Operations Police Suite) that the army uses for people in the army and dod dependents.
If you are not sure then do they do nationwide,local police where your residence currently is where you graduated highschool.. exactly how?
Also If you enlist in a different country say alaska and you live in virginia does your background check go based on guam local police and pacific(OCONOS)wide or different as in just the 50 u.s. states?
Meps uses an FBI data base that all law enforcemnt agencies genrally report to. If the foriegn bases reprted it, then there is a record.
Recruiters typically do police checks on where you lived in the last few years or anywhere you clain to have been arrested ofr a crime.

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so.
