Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/About My Diploma

Question
bout 5 moths ago i received a diploma from an online school. I was told prior to this by a Nation Gaurd and Army recruiter that this was an accepted Diploma. A couple of days ago i went in and talked to a recruiter, took him my diploma and he said "sorry" i cant help you at all. He told me the diploma i had was no longer accepted by the military. He said that the last recruiting cycle it was an accepted diploma, but as of October 1, 08 it is no longer accepted therefor invalid. My question is how could it be considered invalid when i received my diploma in june, 08 when the military was accepting it as valid, does it really all of the sudden become invalid because maybe for the next year that school couldnt get accredidation.              What i got out of their answer was basically, ex: if someone received their diploma in 2002 from an accredited school and in 2004 that scool was denied accredidation for the following year. How does a diploma from prior years/months become unexcepted or invalid.
If their is any advice on how to figure out this situation or who i can talk to about it, please let me know.
Thank You.

Answer
Your recruiter is misinformed, as long as the school was acredited when you recieved it, it is good.  Go to a different recruiter and see what he says.

In fact, in the guard, we recieved no changes in 2 years on the type of diplomas that can be taken, so I have no idea what he is talking about.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
