Question
I realize that this might not be you're area of expertise but I'm desperately searching for an answer and you seem that you have alot of knowledge.   I have 2 "serious" violations which were a DUAI and a DUI which were 4 years apart.  I'm 25 and haven't had any problems in over a year now.   What do you think my chances of getting acceptance into the Marine Corps would be at this time?  I hear they are relaxed from some... but from others I hear they are cracking down hard on waivers.  I have no felonies and scored a 110 overall on the ASVAB and also have some college under my belt.   I was told that that all matters.  What do you think the outcome will be?

Answer
Chris:

I've never heard of a "DUAI" but if the two were separated by that length of time, and you've had no issues in a year, AND you are not on some type of supervised probation, it shouldn't be an issue.  As long as these aren't felonies, they are pretty much waiverable.

Talk to a recruiter and they'll get you pointed in the right direction.

Expertise

Questions relating to US Marine Corps; rank, awards, uniforms, career choices. I can also help people spot and expose fakes (people pretending to be Marines or have awards they didn`t earn). Considering the Marines as a career? Or another branch, like the Air National Guard? Drop me a line. HOWever..know that I am NOT a recruiter. I can offer my expert opinion and advice, but can't (and won't) over rule what a recruiter says, they are the 'on duty' expert.
