not a US Citizen,i am a permanent resident with Green Card.I have all the rights
like an american citizen but i cant vote, this is the only difference. Can i become a
US Army officer? I am going to become a citizen in August 2013,but i graduate
from High School in 2012.    Thank You!

Answer
Dear Relvi --

I recommend you start college, or work for one year between graduating from high school and getting your citizenship.  Once you have your citizenship, then you can apply to West Point.

You can enter West Point up until the age of 25 as long as you are not married, and you are a US citizen, or are sponsored by the military in your country and attend as a foreign military cadet.

Another alternative is to enlist in the military when you graduate, and then apply to the Military Academy or the Academy prep-school.  There are a number of cadet positions for prior service (enlisted) Soldiers to attend West Point.  Also enlisting can accelerate the date on which you can earn your citizenship.

Please write back, if you have additional questions.  Good luck finishing school.
