QUESTION: I was dq'd from the marines in 07 for symptoms of generalized anxieties and
from that they assumed from somewhere I had a learning disability in hs, I
did not and showed a copy of my transcripts and a letter from my child
therapist saying I was never diagnosed with ADHD or genanx but mere had
symptoms u was given meds but never took them I tried to enlist in the pa
national guard a few months back an got declined a waiver is it possible for
me to ever get in? A recruiter told me to get recommendations from retired
soldiers and I have a few bosses who were master sgts in the army rangers
who gave me some thank for your time -jim

ANSWER: Letters will not help, it is a medical disqualification,  and only letters from Doctors will be ocnsidered with new information on it.  Thats about the only choice you have.  Did your recruiter submit a waiver for you?

QUESTION: he tried to pang denied it coming back to the genanx thing even though I
gave them letter saying I was never diagnosed

Answer
If he tried, then you are stuck, there is probably nothing more that can be done.  Your recruiter should have been better prepared.  If you were never diagnosed or took medication for it, then it should have never been mentioned.

Sorry I don't have better news.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
