Question
My boyfriend and I wanted to get married before he was deployed but he said that he had to do it 60 days before being deployed. Is this true?

Answer
Dear Jada --

You can get married at any time.

However, he must have married you before he receives his deployment orders, if he wants the military to cover you during his deployment.

Since he has already received his deployment orders, he can marry you, but the military will not provide housing, nor authorization to move you at their expense during this deployment.

Further his unit may have him in predeployment lock-down which means he cannot depart the area on leave, not even to get married.

Good luck to you both.
